Embracing Microsoft's New Outlook

19 March, 2024

In today's fast-paced business landscape, efficiency and productivity are paramount. Microsoft's New Outlook is set to revolutionize how professionals manage their digital workflows and correspondence.

What is New Outlook?

As we spoke about last year, the new web-based version of Outlook will run on all platforms, including PCs, Macs, browsers, phones and tablets, with no plans at present to stop supporting the current desktop version of Outlook.

It is the next step to bringing consistency to the way you use Outlook. Everyone on a device running Windows 10 or higher, from free accounts to commercial super users, will have a sleek, flexible and familiar Outlook experience.

What does New Outlook mean for your business?

New Outlook offers the most popular features and configurations from the current desktop version of Outlook for Windows. Plus, users will have access to a variety of new tools, including easy access to Microsoft 365 apps, pinning and snoozing emails for better inbox management and intelligent features that allow users with a work account to use Outlook with Microsoft Loop and Microsoft Teams.

The integration with MS Copilot in New Outlook represents a step forward in enhanced email navigation and meeting preparation. MS Copilot offers users support, from navigating email threads with ease to organizing meetings and prioritizing tasks efficiently. This leap towards a more automated email management marks a significant milestone in enhancing workplace productivity and communication.

Many organizations we speak to are primarily concerned about what the New Outlook changes means for third-party applications, like Ideagen Mail Manager.

So, how do we fit in?

New Outlook x Ideagen Mail Manager

Ideagen Mail Manager already supports New Outlook and our roadmap shows a commitment to evolving alongside Microsoft's plans, ensuring enriched user experiences.

New Outlook comes with a newly imagined framework for enabling third-party add-ons and this framework, though immature, is expected to grow in features. The Ideagen Mail Manager New Outlook add-on capitalizes on the functionality currently available. So, though you will not see all of the features that the desktop product offers, you will see us tracking and capitalizing new capabilities as Microsoft releases them.

We understand the importance of email management for project and overall organizational efficiency. Our solution’s adaptability and focus on managing and archiving emails effectively make it an indispensable asset for businesses navigating the updates to New Outlook. It ensures that while Microsoft pushes the boundaries of productivity and collaboration, our solution remains a reliable bridge, ensuring critical communications are managed efficiently.

We believe that embracing the New Outlook for Windows isn't just about keeping up with technology—it's about being ahead. Our commitment to delivering a seamless email solution ensures that you have the tools you need to stay in control of your data, with no reason to be concerned about future changes within Microsoft.

Whether you're ready to dive into the New Outlook or prefer to stick with the classic Microsoft 365 Outlook, Ideagen Mail Manager is here to support you every step of the way.
